David J. "Double D." Dixon Jr., 66, of Hanover Twp., was called home to be with the Lord on October 12th, 2021 after a Courageous battle with cancer.  He passed away at his residence.
Born in Morristown New Jersey he was the son of the late David Sr. and Dorothy Cavanaugh Dixon.  He was a graduate of the West Side Vo-Tech School and was employed by Pitney-Bowes Pre Sort as the Transportation manager.
Dave was a talented musician giving of himself for many benefits.  Believing that music could cure anything.
He was a friend to all and music was in his heart.  With this noted he got a offer to do his last gig with the angels in heaven, an offer he could not refuse.
Dave will be sadly missed most of all Mohegan Sun who enjoyed his company every Sunday, Family and Friends.
He is Survived by his wife of 45 years the Former Jackie Horwatt, Children, Joy Christine Ide and her husband James of Exeter, David J.. Dixon III and his fiancé' Sarah Furmanski of Wilkes-Barre, Amanda Dixon Haughwout and husband Luke of Winsted Connecticut, Sisters, Patsy Pollock, Donna Lamoreaux and husband James, Dawn Dixon, Deanna Bosak and husband Tom, Brothers, Darin J. Dixon and David Sutton and wife Suzee, Grandchildren, James Ide and wife Ashley, Robert Ide, Joseph Ide, Brandon Dixon, Payton Dixon, Great-grandchildren, Abigail Ide and James Ide, Several Nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday October 15th, 2021 from 5p.m. until 8p.m. at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., at 509 Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston.  Internment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In Lieu of flowers or memorial donations may be made to Allied Hospice or the American Cancer Society, or as Dave would say "Do a good deed for someone".
