Denise M. Skrzysowski, 56, of Dupont passed into eternal rest on Wednesday evening December 29th, 2021 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Twp.

Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of
Joan Mozeleski McFadden and the late Thomas “Mickey” McFadden. She was also the beloved wife of David Skrzysowski and proud mother of Alyssa Skrzysowski.

After graduating from Pittston Area High School in 1983, she attended and graduated from the Geisinger School of Nursing and worked tirelessly as a Registered Nurse for her entire career. She was currently employed at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania as the head of Infection Control and Assistant Director of Nursing. She was dedicated to her career, her staff, and all of the residents. She loved working with them every day.

Denise was a member of the Pittston Jaqueline’s of Knights 55. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Church in Dupont.

She loved the beach; it was her favorite place to be at with her family. She enjoyed her nights sitting around the firepit with a cold Stella Solstice in hand, trying to find the North Star in the sky. She also loved family parties and was always the life of them, whether she was throwing them or attending them. If you needed to find her on a weekend in the summer, she'd be lounging in her pool, soaking up the sunshine. Denise was also an avid Phillies fan and loved to watch them every year, even though each season typically ended in disappointment. She was also a season ticket holder and loved to attend Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins games, and watch the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Denise was preceded in death by her grandmother Ann Mozeleski, brother-in-law James A. Connors, father Thomas “Mickey” McFadden, and brother Thomas McFadden.

She is Survived by her Husband, David, Daughter, Alyssa, at home, her mom, Joan McFadden of Pittston, Sister Donna Connors and her companion Ken Bangs of Pittston, Mother and Father-in-Law, Frank and Diane Skrzysowski of Dupont, several Nieces and Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, cousins. She will be enormously missed by all of her family and friends.

The family would also like to thank the many nurses and doctors at Geisinger Wyoming Valley for their dedication and compassion in taking care of Denise. Especially Megan, Steve, Mariah, and Dave in the ICU, and Dr. Lawrence Matthews.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday January 5th, 2022 at 10a.m.  in Our Lady of Eucharist Parish at 535 North Main Street in Pittston with the Rev. Paul McDonnell Officiating.  Interment with the Rite of Committal will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Dupont.  Family and Friends may call Wednesday from 9a.m. until Mass Time at 10a.m at the Church.

The family respectfully requests that all attendants wear masks and abide by CDC guidelines.

In Lieu of Flowers of Memorial Donations in Denise’s name can be made to NEPA Pet Fund and Rescue.  Donations can be made online at Nepapetrescue.com.

Arrangements are by the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc. at 509 Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston.
