Mary Patricia “MP” Coleman, 65, of Exeter, passed on to a better place on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022, surrounded by the loving family she created. Mary Pat fought her lengthy illness with dignity and bravery.

Born on July 10th, 1956, Mary Pat was the daughter of Ellen Brown and the late Robert E. Brown.

Mary Pat had a warm and kind soul which will live on forever in the memories of anyone she encountered. She was a devoted wife, mother, and nana, whose smile could light up a room. A graduate of Wyoming Area High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College, she worked in the banking industry for many years prior to retirement. Mary Pat had a strong spirit, a sense of fairness, and a quick wit. She was an inspiration, particularly for her two children, who will humbly endeavor to carry on her legacy and impart her kindness on their own kids. Always a sunny disposition, Mary Pat most loved spending time with family and friends, but also going to the movies, the beach, antiquing, baseball games, crafting and decorating; the latter of which displayed only a few of her wonderful talents. The holiday memories she beautifully created for her loved ones are etched in our hearts forever. As a family, we were simply lucky to have a wife, mother, and nana with the patience and wisdom to put up with all of us. Words cannot adequately describe our anguish now that she is gone, and though we will always feel her absence, her love will always be present.

Surviving are her devoted husband of 44 years, Leonard Coleman; daughter, Allison Coleman; son, Atty. Brian Coleman and his wife Atty. Rachael Coleman; grandchildren, Abigail Fabian and Gavin Coleman; mother, Ellen Brown; and sister, Sr. Susan Brown, I.H.M., all of whom she departed leaving no doubt of her love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Brown; and her brother, Robert (Bobby) Brown, Jr.

Family and friends who wish to celebrate her life are invited to Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., 509 Wyoming Avenue, West Pittston, on Monday, May 9th, 2022 from 5pm – 8p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at 10:30am at St. Barbara’s Parish, 28 Memorial Street, Exeter with Monsignor John Sempa as the Celebrant.  Friends may also call from 9a.m. until Mass time at 10:30a.m. in the Church.

Interment will be private and held at the Convenience of the Family.

In lieu of donations, the family requests you help any neighbor, charity, or stranger, as best you see fit; as any simple act of kindness would best honor Mary Pat’s spirit.

We love you Momma.
