Carl Nocek, 94, of Harding, passed away Tuesday May 10th, 2022 at home.

Born in Pittston he was the son of the late Martin and Anna Yurek Nocek and attended the West Pittston High School.  Carl joined the United States Army during World War II and was very proud of Serving his Country.  He was a member of Holy Redeemer Church in Harding.

Carl was employed at Nelson’s Upholstery which later became Golden Technology and he worked there until he was 81 years old.  He also Bartended at Emma’s on the Trail for many, many years and also helped take care of the land around it.   He also loved to work on heavy equipment.

He Loved the outdoors, Fishing, Hunting and Cabin Life.  Carl also until his passing loved to watch and talk about the Polka’s.

Carl was preceded in death by his Wife the Former Eileen McDonnell, Son, Leonard Nocek, Sister, Blanch Diamond, Brothers, Philip Nocek, John Nocek, Joseph Nocek, George Nocek and Peter Nocek.

He is Survived by his daughter, Shirley Sutter and her husband Glen of Harding, Sisters, Mary Heidacavage of Connecticut, Ann Nocek of New Jersey, Theresa Mattie and Husband Andy of Montoursville, Pa, and Frances Macy of West Wyoming, Tracy Cebula and husband Joseph, Shawn Sutter and wife Nikki, Eric Sutter, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 14th, 2022 at 11a.m. in Holy Redeemer Church Corpus Christi Parish on State Route 92 in Harding with Monsignor John Sempa Officiating.   Interment with Military Honors will follow in Mountain View Burial Park in Harding.  Family and Friends may call from 10a.m until Mass time at 11a.m.  at the Church.

Arrangements are by the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., at 509 Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston.
