Carmella Mary Janiga, 90, passed away Thursday October 21st, 2021 at Highland Manor in Exeter.
Born in Pittston on December 29th, 1930 the daughter of the late Same and Louise DeForte Ferrara.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston and a former member of St. John the Baptist Church until its closing.
Carmella's joy in life was centered around her family. She dedicated her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew of 66 years in 2017, Brother, Alfonso Ferrara, Sisters Fay Coniglio, Sara Wench, Mary Ardiere, Grace Ardiere, Ann Haefner, Theresa Brown, and Rose Kolativa.
Carmella is Survived by her daughters, Barbara Sworen and her husband Gerald, Ann Morris and her husband Richard, Sons, Andrew Janiga Jr. and his wife Cynthia, and John Janiga and wife Stephanie, Grandchildren, Gerald Jr., and Brian Sworen,
Christina and Richard Jr. Morris, Ashley and Alicia Janiga and Amanda Williams and Matthew Janiga, Great-Grandchildren, Brian Jr., Haley, Emily, Riley Sworen, and Lincoln Williams.
The Funeral will be held on Monday at 12:30pm. from the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., at 509 Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1p.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church at 35 William Street in Pittston. Interment to follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carverton. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 11:30a.m. until 12:30p.m.
The Family would like to thank the Staff at Highland Manor for their kind and compassionate care that they gave Carmella.
